ICmic Announces Plan to Set-Up Center in Middle-East

Cyberjaya, Malaysia, October 1st, 2003.

IC MICROSYSTEMS Sdn. Bhd. (ICmic), a leading Malaysian-based fabless IC Design Company, located in Cyberjaya, announces plan to set-up center in Middle-East for its growing business in Semiconductor Electronics. ICmic is a Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status company.

ICmic (www.icmic.com) has global customer based with impressive performance in its technology, revenue and profitability since incorporation, expects its revenue to grow further in 2003. It has designed world-class Mixed-Signal IC and has staffs of excellence in IC Design.

For Middle-East, ICmic has laid-out specific strategic steps and investment plan to make its present successful and contribute to the development for the region.

The President & CEO of ICmic, Mr. Abdul Rashid Munir stresses the important of the region. “As our company grows, it requires us to be closed to the customers. Just like any developing regions, it starts with the development of the technology and skills, particularly in the universities and setting-up of training centers. This is what we will do here”, said Abdul Rashid.

To complement its IC Design capability, ICmic is also the exclusive distributor of world-leading EDA/CAD tools from Silvaco (www.silvaco.com) for Malaysia and Middle-east countries. EDA/CAD tools are software used in IC Design.

ICmic plans to visit Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Qatar, between 13th to 16th October 2003, focusing on meeting-up with universities, potential business partners, distributors and various authorities regarding investment in the region. ICmic will also visit Dubai Silicon Oasis, DSO.

The visit by ICmic’s President & CEO will include feasibility study for IC Design set-up, with respect to infrastructure, human resource and cost, as CAD Tools technical Support and Sales Center and to explore partnership potential with local company.
