Appointment of ICmic as Consultant for Master Plan Development in Microelectronics
for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Cyberjaya, Selangor, 21 November 2007: IC Microsystems Sdn
Bhd [ICmic] today announced that the company has been appointed
as Consultant by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology
[KACST] of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the development
of a national plan for science and technology for the Kingdom
in the areas of microelectronics and IC design.
The consultation includes providing input and recommendations
for Saudi Arabia’s entry into specific industry segment,
development of human resources, Technology Park, incubators
and start-ups companies together with the setting up of relevant
authorities to manage and oversee various implementation stages.

is another ICmic’s participation at global level utilising
our highly skilled professionals and extensive experience
in setting up IC design company in Malaysia”.
ICmic will also provide the linkage for the Saudi Arabia’s
engineers to be trained in IC design at ICmic-UniKL
Academy.
The Academy is a collaboration between ICmic, Majlis
Amanah Rakyat [MARA] and Universiti
Kuala Lumpur [UniKL] in IC design
competency development.
In Malaysia, ICmic is a leading IC design company, with an
office in Santa Clara, California USA. The company is actively
involved in the development of the IC products and skill enhancement
in IC design. At present, ICmic has more than 80 IC devices
in its product portfolio with extensive customer-base worldwide.
Recently, ICmic received recognition from the Malaysia’s
Ministry of Entrepreneur and Co-operative Development for the
company’s contribution in developing human capital in
IC design competency.
